A MOMENT IN MANHATTAN

My eyes glance here

for a moment to watch

the last snow fall

before I leave Manhattan

on a transatlantic flight;

ignoring all the passerby,

dwarfed by the skyscrapers

and slate sky above,

my feet walk onward,

hands brush gently against

the neglectful bodies and

prominent lights,

as my shadow casts in line

across Central Park

then out the Central Park Zoo,

looping back to Fifth Ave

where the Pierre Hotel

once lodged my recent stay.
